How I Made My Bathroom Faucet Shine Again with a DIY Nano Coating
No matter how often I cleaned our bathroom faucet, water spots and fingerprints seemed to come right back. With a child at home, the faucet was constantly being touched, so keeping it shiny felt like a never-ending job.
Instead of simply cleaning it again, I tried Pomponazzi Living Coat, a DIY nano coating, on the faucet, sink, and bathroom tile shelf.
The Result
The faucet looked noticeably cleaner and shinier, water formed droplets and rolled away more easily, and the coated surfaces stayed looking clean longer. The biggest visual change was actually on the bathroom tile shelf, where the faded-looking surface appeared richer and more refreshed after coating.
Why I Tried a DIY Nano Coating
Our bathroom faucet gets dirty surprisingly quickly. Even after cleaning it the day before, fingerprints, food marks, and water spots can make it look messy again.
That made me wonder whether there was a better way to maintain the surface instead of repeatedly cleaning it. That's when I decided to try a DIY nano coating with Pomponazzi Living Coat.
The Application Was Easier Than I Expected
For the application, I prepared the Living Coat solution, square applicator, and suede cloth included with the kit.
1. Clean the Surface
I started by thoroughly cleaning the sink and faucet. Because I was applying a coating, I paid extra attention to removing visible dirt and residue.
This was the condition of the faucet before coating. It had been cleaned the previous day, but it already showed visible marks again.
2. Dry the Surface Completely
The surface needs to be dry before coating, so after cleaning I carefully removed the remaining moisture with a dry towel.
3. Apply 7–8 Drops
I wrapped the suede cloth around the applicator and added about 7–8 drops of Living Coat. It seemed like a small amount at first, but it was enough to spread across the surface.
I gently spread the coating over the front, inside, and sides of the faucet so the entire surface was covered.
4. Wait 30 Minutes and Buff
After approximately 30 minutes, I used the included Living Towel to thoroughly wipe away the remaining product.
That was it. The process was much simpler than I had expected from something called a “nano coating.”
The Water-Repellent Result
I sprayed water on the faucet to see how the coating performed. The water formed droplets and ran down the surface instead of simply spreading across it.
More importantly for everyday life, the faucet stayed looking clean longer even with frequent use. That meant less time spent repeatedly wiping it down.
I Coated the Bathroom Sink Too
Since I was already working on the faucet, I applied Living Coat to the bathroom sink using the same process.
The finished sink looked brighter and shinier, giving the whole bathroom a cleaner appearance.
The Biggest Before-and-After: The Tile Shelf
Once I saw the faucet and sink, I decided to coat the bathroom tile shelf as well.
Toothpaste, facial cleanser, and other bathroom products are regularly placed on this shelf, and over time the surface had started to look dull and faded.
This was actually where I noticed the strongest visual difference. After applying the coating, the surface looked richer and closer to its original color, giving it a much cleaner appearance.
Before trying it, I wasn't sure whether a nano coating was something I could realistically apply myself. After using it, the process felt surprisingly manageable.
About Pomponazzi Living Coat
Pomponazzi Living Coat is a 100 ml DIY nano coating designed for use on a range of compatible household surfaces, including stainless steel, glass, marble, wood, and other materials.
The coating is designed to form a thin protective layer on the surface, helping make everyday contamination easier to wipe away. That makes it particularly practical for frequently touched or water-exposed areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Packaging
The product arrived securely packaged without any visible damage. The presentation was neat enough that it could also work well as a practical housewarming gift.
Final Thoughts
The more often I cleaned the bathroom, the more I started thinking about how to make surfaces stay cleaner rather than simply cleaning them again and again.
That's where Pomponazzi Living Coat made the most sense for me. The application itself was simple, the faucet regained a cleaner shine, water beaded more visibly, and the coated areas became easier to maintain.
For a frequently used bathroom—especially one where faucets and sinks are constantly being touched—a DIY coating can be a practical addition to regular cleaning.
Quick Takeaway
The most noticeable results were improved shine on the faucet and sink, visible water beading, and a refreshed appearance on the bathroom tile shelf—all from a straightforward DIY application.
